The result of the debate was to Delete the image. —Angr 09:59, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Unless anyone on Wikipedia actually has a fair use image of Hype Williams, or knows him well enough to be able to take one (I'm willing to bet the answer is "no" to both of these), there is no way of making a free use alternative image at this time. --FuriousFreddy 22:57, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- Based on the awards that Williams has received, it seems that he does make public appearances, meaning that a free image can be created. Even so, this image appears to be a violation of Wikipedia's fair use policy in that it is being used to illustrate Williams and not The Videos, Vol. 1 (according to the licensing tag, it is to be used "for identification and critical commentary on the station ID or program and its contents). —ShadowHalo 23:03, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- On the grounds of the second reason, then I believe it is correct to delete this image. But the first isn't very reasonable: just because someone turns up in public at sporadic intervals, the image can be reasonably replaced with a free use one? (Hype Williams makes very few public appearances: in fact, he's something of a recluse) On those grounds, virtually all of the images on the site are probably within grounds to be deleted; let's see if that actually happens. For example: at U2, there are several fair use images of the group. As much as that group is seen in public, it is far more likely that some fan has free use images of them than it is that someone has a free use image of Hype Williams. I say it isn't reasonably possible to replace a fair use image unless you actually have or can easily get a replacement, but that's just me. Carry on. --FuriousFreddy 23:17, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
