What is the reason for having an ई in Bollywood (बॉलीवुड). In British and American (I think) pronounciations it is a short 'y', Bollywood. Phonetically, it sounds like बॉलिवुड. Is there a precedent for using a long 'y'? --Wolf १३:१४, ३ दिसम्बर २००६ (UTC)
- Google thinks बॉलीवुड is correct. That's not a great indicator since there isn't that much Hindi on the web, in devanagari, but see [1] and [2]. Apparently both spellings are used, as you'll see the same publications use it both ways. - Taxman ०५:०२, ४ दिसम्बर २००६ (UTC)

For word industry, उघोग is used in Hindi.
