"I Loves You Porgy" is a song from the musical Porgy and Bess. The music was written by George Gershwin, with lyrics by DuBose Heyward & Ira Gershwin. It was published in 1935.
Nina Simone's version was a top 40 hit in the United States.
Bill Evans's trio version recorded live at The Village Vanguard in 1961 and on the CD re-issue of the album Waltz for Debby is also acclaimed.
