"I Want You to Need Me" was written by the famous Diane Warren, who wrote for Céline Dion also "Because You Loved Me" among others. Several club remixes were created by the Thunderpuss.
"I Want You to Need Me" music video was directed by Liz Friedlander and released on May 1, 2000. It was included on Céline Dion's All the Way... A Decade of Song and Video DVD. First video, directed by Paul Hunter (February 2000) was never released.
The song reached #1 in Canada (for one week) and #7 on the Hot Dance Singles Sales in the U.S. It was popular on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks, peaking at #12. "I Want You to Need Me" reached also top forty in Sweden, Argentina and Switzerland. The U.S. single was a double A-side with "That's the Way It Is." According to Nielsen SoundScan it sold 58,000 copies in the U.S.
