Ian is the third seamer who has shown promise over the last couple of years. Although primarily a batsman at lower levels, he has reached the first eleven on the strength of his bowling in one-day games. He is an excellent fielder anywhere and has a very safe pair of hands. His sense of humour is a great asset and if he can relax more at the top level and ally this to a more ambitious approach he could find a regular first-team place. He needs to work hard on his fitness and also to put together some larger scores with the bat, so that he gains confidence and realises his potential.
