Ian James Rickard (born May 15, 1981 in Portsmouth, UK) is an evolutionary ecologist, based at the University of Sheffield. He has a BSc in Zoology from the University of Glasgow and is currently researching for a PhD.
He is currently studying how environmental conditions experienced during early development affect reproductive success in humans from pre-industrial societies. He is using data from historical Finland as well as from contemporary rural populations in the developing world.
His studentship is jointly supervised by Dr Virpi Lummaa and Dr Andy Russell and he is supported by the Natural Environment Research Council.
