The iCat is a robot cat designed and manufactured by Sega Toys. It is also manufactured by Hasbro, which sells the iCat in North America.
The iCat, like the iDog and iFish, reacts to music from an external source, such as an MP3 player. It features seven flashing LED lights on its face and has the ability to 'dance' to the beat of the music. It also has switches on its tail, head (nose), and 6 touch sensors which allow it to react to user input. It has various emotions which change based on user interaction and music played with it that provide different color patterns on its LED lights.
The iCat was probably designed to interact with the iPod (hence the name, even though the iPod is designed by the Apple Computer company), though it will work with any 3.5mm audio jack input, and has an integrated speaker. It also reacts if placed near an audio source (such as speakers), and has 4 built-in riffs that come in 4 different music genres (rock, hip-hop, country, and dance).
The iCat is designed to personify different traits. When it is tapped on the nose, the iCat purrs with delight. It acts sick when it has been without music for a while; "feeding" the iCat music makes it feel better.
Hasbro also sells clothing for the iCat, called the "Chill" series, including hats, scarves, and tail-warmers.
The iCat comes in several colors: white and black.
