ICE table
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An ICE table or ICE chart is a tabular system of keeping track of changing concentrations in an equilibrium reaction. ICE stands for "Initial, Change, Equilibrium". It is used in chemistry to keep track of the changes in moles of the reactants and also organize a set of conditions that one wants to solve with.
In the table, one writes the initial concentration, change in concentration, and final (equilibrium) concentration of the reactants and products in a chemical equation. The [C] line is always an equal ratio to the coefficients in the balanced chemical equation. The [I] line and the [C] line should always be equal to the [E] line when added.
