[edit] Plot
Ren and Stimpy are recruited into the army. They face awkward obstacles to overcome with a big, bossy sarge. One of the things they had to do was to enter a tear gas room and Stimpy overreacts to the tear gas, while Ren holds his breath so he doesn't suffer the gas' effects. That caused them to do it again. They also had to peel potatoes, watermelons, and even...bombs?! They also had to carry very big bags, but Ren was lazy. So, the sarge made Ren carry...him! Whatever the duo had to do, Stimpy seemed to be the better recruit. However, the two eventually made it.
[edit] Notes, Goofs, and Trivia
- This is the first episode in which only one person was credited in the opening credits.
- Between Ren and Stimpy's beds, you can see a picture of George Liquor.
- On Spike TV, this airs with Big House Blues.
[edit] Quotes
- Stimpy: Happy, Happy, Happy, Peel, Peel, Peel.
- Ren (reading the kind of sign you'd see at an eye doctor): This will hurt you.
- (Ren gulps, then a mega-shot gun comes towards him)
- Stimpy: You know, Ren, the sarge must like you best because he gave you the most potatoes to peel.

[edit] Ask Dr. Stupid: Are You Talking to Bean?
[edit] Plot
Dr. Stupid (Stimpy) is in a swamp and gets a letter from Jennifer from Bent Armpit, Wyoming saying, "What is that ugly, white slab in my can of beans?". He attempts to activate his patented stupomitron helmet, but pokes his eye instead. We move on without activating the helmet. The (incorrect) answer is, "That ugly, white slab in your can of beans is the queen bean!". Dr. Stupid didn't feel good about the answer, so he continues by saying, "And all the other beans are the worker beans that serve her." And this bumper ends by Dr. Stupid sinking in the swamp.
[edit] Notes, Goofs, and Trivia
- This is the only "Ask Dr. Stupid" bumper in Season 2.
- After Dr. Stupid says the incorrect answer, the camera suddenly freezes before Dr. Stupid continues.
- On Spike TV and the "Seasons 1 and 2" DVD, this bumper is also shown after "Stimpy's Invention".

[edit] Additional Opening Credits
[edit] Notes, Goofs, and Trivia
- The final scene where Powdered Toast Man is burning the U.S. Constitution and the Bill Of Rights was edited from future Nickelodeon broadcasts due to the controversial nature of the ending, but was reinstated for Spike TV airings and the series' DVD release. You can also see the uncut version on devilducky.com.
- The "toatometron communicator" scene almost never made it in the episode.
- John K. was a fan of Frank Zappa, and Frank Zappa was a fan of Ren and Stimpy. And John asked Frank to Be in a Ren and Stimpy cartoon, and Frank always wanted to be the pope, so he did it. Also, as Frank Zappa did his voice, after Powdered Toastman said, "Cling tenaciously to my buttocks!", he added the line, "Both of them?".
- Ren and Stimpy only have one line, and they both say it together. "We're all out of powdered toast!"
- 1st Time Bill Wray was credited on the opening credits.
