Instinct is a July 1988 album by the American singer Iggy Pop. After hit album Blah Blah Blah record company expected another hit record from Iggy but he turned direction to the basics.
It was a heavy rock oriented album which featured two of the original Sex Pistols line, Glen Matlock on bass and Steve Jones on guitar.
Album peaked at number 110 on Billboard top 200 albums.
First single "Cold metal" charted at number 37 on Mainstream rock tracks and with that song Iggy was nominated for Grammy award for Best Hard rock/Metal performance in 1989.
Highlights of the album include "Cold metal" and "High on you" for which were made videos.
