Institute for Humanist Studies

The Institute for Humanist Studies (IHS) is a Humanism think tank. It is a non-profit organization, for non-theistic, and secular, Humanism. IHS is a Specialist Member of the International Humanist and Ethical Union.
The official symbol of IHS is a version of the Happy Human.

The IHS publishes a weekly electronic newsletter, the Humanist Network News. This deals with current US and international Humanist issues.
The E-newsletter contains Freethunk [1], a comical cartoon made for Freethinkers, which often makes fun of Religious Fundamentalism.

- IHS has offices in Albany, New York, United States. The base of the IHS is the Humanist Center, which was purchased with a private donation.
- The IHS administers the IHS Grant Fund, which manages $130,000 per year. Camp Quest Canada was created this with grant.
- IHS offers free Web hosting to Humanist and related websites through Humanists.net.
- IHS operates the Continuum of Humanist Education, "...the world's first interactive, online curriculum centered around humanist thought."
