Instrumental guitar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Instrumental guitar is a genre of music featuring the guitar played by virtuoso guitar players. It has come to prominence in the recordings of players such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Jeff Beck (the Godfather of the genre), Chet Atkins, Gary Hoey, Faraz Anwar and more.
Younger players, such as Johnny A, Bill Lonero, Curtis Fornadley, Luke Rake and Andy Martin have taken instrumental to a whole new level creating songs based around melodies rather than solos like the 1980s style of instrumental guitarists.
