International House is a residential college which is part of The University of Melbourne and accommodates 265 students from Australia and approximately 35 other countries. We are located on Royal Parade in Parkville, a short walk to The University of Melbourne and a 15 minute tram ride northbound from Melbourne’s CBD. Most of our students are studying at The University of Melbourne, although we also have students at nearby institutions such as the Victorian College of Pharmacy and RMIT.
International House’s core values allow students to grow personally, while developing the skills and confidence to be able to succeed in today’s changing world. International House prides itself on its safe and nurturing environment, while supporting students academically with our extensive tutorial program. International House offers an extensive scholarship program which encourages academic success and leadership.
Adjusting to the demands of tertiary study without the required assistance can present challenges for even the highest-achieving scholars. Students who live at International House have found the transition from school to university much easier, primarily due to the supportive atmosphere in the House.
