I come from Europe, Lithuania. I have been with Wikipedia since June 4, 2003. Presently I am mostly contributing the Howto Wiki on Wikia. My lifetime research interests are the Universe and it's origin (it's structure). I have been studying physics, but changed my field to mathematics because physics has no model which can explain the earliest moments of the Universe's existence. I have hopes to understand it through comparison and analysis of the properties of possible computational universe(s) with the properties our universe.

Studies. I am very enthusiastic about studying mathematics, becoming a scientific researcher and a good member of the scientific community. Because I think science is good for solving almost any kind of problems, as well as for exploring the universe and contributing to the Wolrd's harmonious progress(, which is what I want to do in my life).

I think the concept of technological singularity is really worth exploring, and the singularity itself is very promissing. Also, I agree very much on that we must create a superior machine intelligence before we create the nanotechnology to avoid it's dangers.

[edit] 5. Why did you start learning Japanese?

To put it simply, because I've had thoughts of becoming a Japanese.

Being a child, I could see the surprisingly intelligent behaviour of Japanese in various areas starting from their products and technologies, and ending with their culture. I felt a strong [agreement] with, preference and interest in the way they do it.

When I was around 12-14 years old, while I was thinking a lot of my identity, I had this thought: "Well, as I am still young, I have a right to choose a country I want to identify myself with!", and having strongly decided "I choose Japan!", the first step of my plan was to master the Japanese.

I don't think that choosing an identity is something very unusual or rare for normal people: respectively from one's family, one does choose a company, and become a loyal to it.

This is why I have studied Japanese language, wanting to become a member of the country Japan. However, after about 1 year of studies in Japan, I felt that I have become much more an internationalist. For me, it means that I am much more concerned about the global problems, reciprocal love between nations, or becoming a "Citizen of the World."
