[edit] History
Highway 25 originally extended only from Creston to Scranton. By 1937 it had been extended all the way to the Missouri state line south of Blockton, but the highway was truncated back to that community in 1980, then the segment from Highway 2 to Blockton was decommissioned in 1981.[1]
[edit] Current status
As of 2006, no significant upgrading or maintenance is scheduled for Highway 25. [3]
[edit] Notes
- Highway 25 runs directly along county lines between Iowa 2 and U.S. 34. The counties involved are Taylor, Ringgold, Adams, and Union.
- Highway 25 comes very close to the northwestern tip of Lake Panorama near Springbrook State Park in Guthrie County.
