[edit] Location
The Isle of Echoes is a 30 days sail from Southport to the north west and 10 days sail from Silvertown to the west. It lies within the Western Sea, home to the merlee. A reef surrounds the Isle of Echoes. The Echorium is located at the top of the island accessible by the "Five Thousand Steps" which rise from Harbourtown, the port of the island. At The Echorium, the Singer academy is located where they learn about the history of the island and the Songs of Power.
[edit] Significance
The island is the home of the Singers, who use the Songs of Power to keep calm and balance across the region. It is also a centre of education for new singers and a place of healing and punishment. Sometimes trade would be carried out between the singers and pirates from Southport, e.g. in the novel Crystal Mask the Singers traded a bluestone for a crazy (person brought to the island for treatment).
