The original caption reads: ROUGH-RIDING IN ITALY A CAVALRY DRILL NEAR ROME Photographs illustrating the difficult feats by which Italian cavalry officers develop their skill in horsemanship have been published recently in the "Weekly". The snapshot on this page gives an idea of the perilous tests to which the riders are put. They are required to ride over an almost perpendicular cliff and down a steep incline at the bottom.
