- Bon Scott, cantante e frontman dei AC/DC, muore il 19 febbraio dopo un forte stato di ubriachezza. Aveva 33 anni.
- John Bonham, batterista dei Led Zeppelin, muore il 25 settembre a 32 anni, dopo aver bevuto pesantamente. La sua morte fu simile a quella del cantante degli AC/DC, Bon Scott, e causò lo scioglimento dei Led Zeppelin.
