Terry Riley (Colfax, California, 24 giugno 1935 ) è un musicista e compositore statunitense, noto per essere stato tra i fondatori del movimento minimalista. Il suo brano IN C composto nel 1964 è in genere considerato il primo lavoro del minimalismo musicale americano, cui aderirono compositori come Steve Reich, Philip Glass e John Adams e gruppi rock come The Who, Tangerine Dream ecc.
