J. R. Shaw

JR Shaw (born 1934 in Brigden, Ontario) is a Canadian businessman. He is the executive chairman of Shaw Communications.
Shaw is the father of Jim Shaw, current chief executive officer of Shaw Communications, and of Bradley S. Shaw, a senior vice president of the company.
Shaw holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Michigan State University. He has received several honorary degrees, including ones from the University of Alberta, University of Calgary, and Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.
In 2003 Shaw was named an Officer of the Order of Canada.
He also currently sits on the board of directors of Suncor Energy.
