Jabbar (real name Nawaf Al-Bilali) is a fictional character in The 99 comics

Nawaf was a normal teenager until an explosion shattered a hidden Noor stone, embedding shards of the stone in Nawaf's skin. The explosion didn't kill Nawaf, but the slivers of gemstone that lodged in his body triggered a transformation in the gawky teenager.
He was transformed into a giant, standing over 2 metres tall and weighing almost 200 kilograms. His slightest touch could shatter a brick wall. The Saudi government tried to use its army to contain him, but no one could stop him. He was turned over to the world's expert on Noor stones - Dr. Ramzi Razem.
He taught Nawaf that he need only add self-control and compassion to his strength to be a formidable force for good.

The only exposed shard of gem is a scar under his eye. The rest glow whenever his power increases.
