Jack Absalom

Jack Absalom, an Australian artist and adventurer born in 1927, was one of the members of the Brushmen of the Bush.
His has worked in many fields; his occupations include being a: (i)Television presenter(some say he was Australia’s original television adventurer - long before the Steve Irwin) (ii)Writer - His books include: "Safe Outback Travel"(which has sold >250000 copies), "Outback Cooking in the Camp Oven"(co-written with his uncle Reg Absalom),"Art of Broken Hill", "Blue Sky, Blue Bush and Silver" (iii)Professional Kangaroo shooter (iv)Explorer and opal miner(he has travelled to opal fields all over Australia)
His large gallery is located in Chapple Street, Broken Hill. It was built in 1997 - replacing his old gallery which was a room attached to the side of his house. The gallery showcases his large paintings of interesting areas he has visited all over Australia. One can often find him there having a chat with the visitors to his gallery.
Today, approaching 80, he is still keeping very fit and healthy.
