Jack Bannister (b. John David Bannister, 23rd August 1930 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England) is the current Talksport radio cricket correspondent, and was, for many years, a BBC television cricket commentator. He had previously played professionally on the county scene for Warwickshire, taking more than one thousand First-Class wickets. During the 1995 South Africa vs England test match series in South Africa, he promised he would eat a piece of cardboard if South Africa won. He eventually did, when South Africa won.
