Jack Lawrence (artist)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jack Lawrence (born 1975 in the UK) is a professional comics creator, who, prior to 2002, also worked as an animator.
Lawrence burst onto the comic scene with his own title, "Darkham Vale," which he created, wrote, pencilled, inked and coloured. The series ran for a self-contained ten issues, which received a startling level of critical acclaim, especially for a new creator, and a small publisher. Although a second series, "The Dracou Imperative" was planned, it never got past Issue 1, due to a rights dispute with the publisher.
Lawrence then went on to find greater success with "Lions, Tigers and Bears," written by Mike Bullock and published by Image. A four-issue series, Lions, Tigers and Bears was a surprise hit that revolved around a young boy and his stuffed animals. A second series is rumoured to be in production, with possible movies and video game tie-ins.
UK-based Lawrence also works on the British magazine, "Jackie Chan Adventures," published by Eaglemoss and "A.T.O.M.," published by Panini.
His credits also include 2000 AD, Monster Club, B1N4RY, Go-Go Gorilla, Tigerman, Lullaby, Noble Causes.
