Jacqueline Cockburn

Jacqueline Cockburn is the Head of Department for History of Art at the historic and world-renowned Westminster School. Jacqueline has been a full-time member of the Westminster Common Room since 1984, teaching both History of Art and Modern Languages.
Upon graduating, with a degree from Durham University in Modern Languages, she gained a PGCE from the University of Manchester, and then took an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. Having completed a History of Art Degree in 1996, she went on to do a PhD in Spanish and History of Art at the University of London in 2003.
Jacqueline Cockburn is an Associate Lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London,where she teaches courses on Spanish Art. She has also led the team to develop a new History of Art syllabus for Pre U examinations (Cambridge International Examinations. While her The Spanish Song Companion was published in 1992 (reprinted in 2005 in the United States), she has also contributed chapters to Fire Blood and the Alphabet (Durham University Press) and Crossing Fields (Legenda Press). She has also contributed to A Companion to Federico García Lorca (Tamesis Press 2007) and is currently working on a publication on the late artist Terry Frost's interest in Federico García Lorca.
