[edit] Biography
Jai (whose birth name is Jason Rowe) was born in Yeovil, England. He moved to London in the mid-1990s, and began working with producer Joel Bogen. A single, "Don't Give Me Away", was released on London indie M&G Records in January of 1997, and was successful both in Britain and across Europe. This attracted the attention of RCA Records, who released Jai's debut album, Heaven, later in 1997. The single "I Believe" was a minor hit in the United States, and the album peaked at 49 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers Chart.
