Switcheroo is the 17th episode of the second season of American Dragon: Jake Long.
[edit] Synopsis
The episode opens with Jake getting out of bed and rushing to the door so he can beat Haley to the bathroom. They both start to fly to the bathroom only to have their father, Jonathan come out of his bedroom. Haley gets to the bathroom first and Jonathan laughs and says to Jake that it looked like they were flying.
Haley, dressed in her school uniform sits at the table waiting for her father to finish cooking breakfast. When Jake enters the kitchen, Jonathan asks if he can take Haley to school. Jake tries to object but he ends up having to take her. Jake hurries Haley to her school and tells her that because of her hogging the bathroom, Rotwood always gives him detention, but he stops when he sees Rose walking across the street. As they hide behind a mailbox, Jake tells Haley that he and Rose were boyfriend and girlfriend, but she broke up with him (see "The Love Cruise"). Jake gets Haley to school and Jake hurries to Rotwood's class, but he is late and Rotwood gives him detention.
After school, Haley complains about Olivia Meers, the school bully, but Jake says that she's a sweet little girl. They stop when Jake sees Brocomus being attacked by 88 and 89. 88 and 89 steal a package from Brocomus and Jake goes after them, but they throw the mirror off the building and flee. Jake tries to get the package, but Haley gets it. Back at the shop, they learn that it is a mirror which switches bodies. Jake starts to argue with Haley and he activates the mirror. The next morning they wake up to find out that they have switched bodies.
Jake and Haley hurry to the shop. Haley has put on a suit and tie and Jake has styled Haley's uniform. Fu says that the only way that they can switch back is if he gets the mirror, but Gramps has already taken it back. Jake goes to Haley's school and Haley goes to Jake's school as Fu goes to get the mirror back. At Haley's school, Jake ruins their violin practice and starts a food fight getting Haley detention. Jake is about to spray the classroom with paint when he sees Haley's art project. A painting of him. The teacher says that the assignment was to create something that inspired her. At Jake's school, Haley does a ballet recital in front of the whole school and Trixie tries to talk sense into Jake.
At lunch, Jake and Haley sneak out of school and go to the park to see that Fu was attacked by 88 and 89 and they stole the mirror. Haley tries to practice flying in Jake's body, but she looses control and Jake saves her. As 88 and 89 escape, they start arguing about who gets the credit and Jake and Haley catch up to them. Haley tries to breath fire at them, but the power knocks her head into the ceiling knocking her out cold, 89 then tries to kill Jake, but Jake switches 88 and 89's bodies and 88 chases 89 away demanding that he gives him back his real body.
Jake goes back to Haley's school and wins her ballet recital so Haley can go to Paris over the summer. Back at the shop, Jake and Haley get their bodies back. Haley tells Jake she helped him with Rose. Meanwhile, at school, Rose opens her locker to see a painting of her that is signed to Rose from Jake. Rose smiles.
The next morning, Jake prepares to have his race with Haley to the bathroom, but to his surprise, Haley lets him go first. Jake starts to go when Haley trips him. Jake and Haley start their race just as Jonathan comes out of his room.
