James Edward Francis Riley, Sr. (born December 16, 1957 to Edward J. and Dolores (Swiatkowski) Riley). Grandson of Edward J. and Catherine (Burns) Riley and Frank and Mary (Kloczkowski) Swiatkowski. Husband of Maria Cristina (Islas Cano) Riley and father of Alexandra-Marie Rosemary, Jimmy, Jr., Dolores-Christine Rosemary and Joseph Edward James Riley.
Jim Riley had many careers, from serving in the U.S. Army in Germany and Korea as an enlisted soldier, NCO and officer to being a federal agent with the U.S. Department of Justice, working in the entertainment industry where he appeared in many films and television shows, being a computer technician with a multi-national telecommunications company and working in marketing and advertising in both broadcast and print media.
He has been a published writer (guest columnist) in newspapers from Santa Monica, CA. to Abilene, TX. as well as in New London, CT. His short story 'Death' was a readers choice award winner in 'Anotherealm' and was printed in 'Anotherealm Bests' as well as in 'Dark Moon Rising.'
'Death' was then picked-up and used as a monologue in a play entitled: 'Tales of Death' produced by 'The Roguespeare Players,' a theatrical troupe in 'the Edmonton Fringe Festival' in Alberta, Canada. This festival attracts nearly 500,000 visitors a year and is the largest festival of it's kind in North America.
James E. F. Riley, Sr.'s collection of poetry and dark short stories, 'Daydreams & Nightmares was first published in February, 2006. It was immediately offered for sale at Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com with outstanding reviews for this first book.
