James Hamblin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
James Hamblin (born August 16, 1978) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. His father, Christopher Hamblin also played first-class cricket. James Hamblin played first-class cricket for Hampshire between 2001 and 2003, having previously played as early as 1997 for Sussex in the Second XI championship.
His batting display in his first Second XI match was impressive, though his performance was undermined by his opposing team Surrey scoring two double-centuries in the first innings thanks to Greg Kennis and Ian Ward. Hamblin played most extensively through the Second XI Championships of 1997-2004, though he made occasional appearances in Hampshire's Division One season of 2002.
Generally speaking, Hamblin was a strong to medium lower-order batsman, with a first-class average of 27.50.
