James Primrose is the ninth and last known Laird of Burnbrae. He was born about 1746 in Tulliallan, Perthshire, Scotland to John Primrose, 8th Laird of Burnbrae and Janet Primrose. He was also known by the title Esquire. James married Janet Lawrie about 1784 and died November 1827, two years after his wife who died April 1832.
