James F. DeVoe is very well known and well respected within the Car Industry, and even more well know within the used car industry. He has produced some revolutionary ideas in the world of "buy here, pay here" sales and finance. There are also those (mostly previous customers) who feel that his ideas stray from positive into the preditory as far as lending practices are concerned. His name is forever tied to J.D. Byrider, the largest used car sales company in the United States.
