Jan Gunnar Solli (born April 19, 1981 in Arendal) is a player of the Norwegian football club Brann. He is a hard-working and committed midfield player who can play in the centre or on the right, and he is fast becoming a pivotal figure for club and country.
Having represented Norway at Under-18 and U21 level, Solli made his senior debut in a friendly international against Scotland on 20 August 2003 and scored his first international goal in a 3-2 win against Russia on the 28th of April the same year. As of April 2005 Solli has 17 caps.

In total, he played 54 league games for the club over three-and-a-half seasons – but failed to score – and helped Odd reach the 2002 Norwegian Cup final, where they were beaten 1-0 by Vålerenga.
Solli agreed a switch to perennial Norwegian champions Rosenborg BK in summer 2003 and made four starts and a further ten substitute appearances in the second half of that season as the Trondheim club wrapped up a 12th consecutive league title. He was also a regular in the ensuing European campaigns and scored an important first-leg goal against Maccabi Haifa F.C. in the Champions League third qualifying round in August 2004.
Solli scored his first-ever league goal against Viking F.K. on the 23rd of August 2003 – his fifth full season as a professional footballer.
