Jannik Lindbæk

Jannik Lindbæk (born 1939) is a Norwegian businessman and current chairman of the board of Statoil.

Lindbæk earned a siviløkonom degree from NHH in 1961 and later received a Fulbright scholarship to continue his business studies in the United States. He was executive vice president of the International Finance Corporation from 1994-1998 Jannik Lindbaek, a Norwegian with a background in international banking, was named Executive Vice President IFC on January 1, 1994.

Prior to that, Mr. Lindbaek had been the head of the Nordic Investment Bank since 1986, overseeing hundreds of millions of dollars in loans to develop the economies of the five countries that own the bank: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.

Mr. Lindbaek has a degree from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen. In the 1961-62 academic year, he was a Fulbright scholar studying economics at the University of Kansas.

Mr. Lindbaek's record of accomplishment and innovation in both the private and public sectors served him well in leading IFC.
