Jared Casey

Jared Casey is a fictional character on NBC's daytime drama Passions. Jared has been played by James Stevenson since July 21, 2006.

Jared Casey is the new guy in town and he has set his eyes on Theresa Crane. Jared met Theresa when she spilled her drink on Jared at the Blue Note night club. Jared became enraged and began to argue with Theresa. Later he apologized for his attitude and asked Theresa to dance which she agreed to in order to make Ethan jealous. Jared has given Theresa the pet name "Tess" which she didn't care for at first, but has started to like it recently. Theresa seems determined to put Ethan behind her but has yet to give in to Jared's advances. Whether or not Jared's interest in Theresa is sincere or simply a ruse to further an agenda remains to be seen.
Jared has taken a job at Crane Industries. Jared is apparently a lawyer with an MBA. Jared and Theresa were sleeping together but he was unaware that she was also sleeping with Ethan Winthrop whom Jared despises.
Recently Theresa ended her relationship with Jared in hopes that she could win Ethan back from Gwen Hotchkiss if Gwen's part in exposing Ethan's paternity to the tabloids was exposed by J.T. Cornell. Theresa has failed to do so and for the time being is single. Jared planned to leave Harmony but thanks to the advice of a fortune teller Theresa asked him to stay and the two reunited. Jared finally asked Theresa to marry him, and the two were wed on April 2, 2007.

- Jared's middle name Tolland was revealed on the March 30, 2007, episode when the justice of the peace began the wedding ceremony. James Stevenson grew up in Tolland, Connecticut.
