[edit] Good Article nomination has failed
A good article has the following attributes.
- It is well written.
- It's certainly clear and grammatical - but this article fails to give any "flavor" or "personality" to the school. You've certainly got a nice attendence record, and you appear to be academically sound, but the article basically says, "Yawn, Yet Another High School." I suspect that there's some sort of a "hook", some story about a teacher or student, or administrator that can reach out and really grab the reader. You pass, but you don't get any extra points that could compensate for deficiencies elsewhere.
- It is factually accurate and verifiable.
- I suspect it's factually accurate, I don't know. Where did you come up with the figure that the "current functional capacity of the school is approximately 1,758 students", for instance? You really need cites for everything. You don't have ANY cites at all in the extracurricular music and education area. It's not that your citations are poor, but that there simply aren't enough of them.
- It is broad in its coverage.
- I was surprised to see the bit about Randall Chaddick being on the CU board. I wouldn't have put it in the article, because it's not really about his qualifications as an educator. (I didn't count this against you; just a comment.)
- What is a CTA? A certified teaching assistant?
- Do your voters always pass tax levies? Does nobody complain about the coach? Are there never any aggrieved parties running for the school board because they have an axe to grind?
- It follows the neutral point of view policy.
- I don't see anything controversial in the article where this would even come into play. Is this really a school district full of Stepford students, Stepford faculty, and Stepford administrators in a district full of Stepford parents and taxpayers?
Other notes: It's not clear that Jessica Ridings has placed those lyrics in the public domain; you should do something about that. It also wouldn't hurt to have a picture or two in the body of the article, showing kids building a bonfire at homecoming, someone receiving an award for winning the WorldQuest, etc. You've got a picture of the building - but it's pictures of people that build interest - and pictures spread throughout the text break up that grey mass, and make it more readable.
Given that your "verifiability" is deficient, and you are only borderline in the other three major areas, you're not GA overall. Reading the prior GA review, I can see that you've made considerable improvements, and I congratulate you, but you still aren't up to snuff. I hope you'll continue to work on this, and succeed.
