[edit] Richard Joel

Your criticism of Richard Joel essentially amounts to name-calling. Please stop adding your paragraph about "stylish, yet meaningless" Judaism to the article. Thanks, DLandTALK 07:06, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Please do not delete material from your talk page. It is against Wikipedia policy - see Help:Talk page.

[edit] Leah Shakdial

was deleted as a copyright violation. You pasted the text from two websites, it looks like. Feel free to write the article again in your own words, though I doubt she's terribly notable - maybe for the court case, nd even then - should the info go into the article about the case instead? - CrazyRussian talk/email 18:57, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

She is notable for the court case and the Rabbinic opinions, not as a person. But the court case should be somewhere to refer to it from other pages. As you know I found myself doing this from Rabbi Waldenberg.

[edit] Avi Weiss

Thanks for adding some facts about Avi Weiss. Please remember to WP:CITE your facts. One of the nice thing about the AW article is that it's fairly well cited - let's keep it that way. --Bachrach44 22:41, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: R' Yehiel Yaakov Weinberg

Come again please, I don't know how to nominate him, could you please help me out? GZee 22:51, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Ok I Hope I fixed it now.

Gota go but thanks for fixing it. GZee 22:59, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Avi Weiss

Why did you delete the reference to Torah U'Maddah? Please respond on article talk page. Thanks, --Shirahadasha 00:32, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Henkin

Re [1] so Louie was his kid?? - CrazyRussian talk/email 19:12, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes. And has a rabbinical side to him also.

[edit] Your contact info

Hi Jayrav: Shavuah Tov! You have not enabled your Wikipedia Email feature in your "my preferences" at the top of your user page. Sometimes editors overlook that when it's a useful way of staying in touch with other editors. Best wishes. IZAK 03:15, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Yeshivat Chovevei Torah

Hello! Compared to the daily or worse vandalism that articles like Who is a Jew and Bible get, the weekly vandalism this one gets is comparatively mild. Also, most of it really isn't vandalism -- it's newbies (I don't know if they're sockpuppets) with an axe to grind offering opinionated, usually unsourced content, which is not ideal but nonetheless represent legitimate attempts to edit rather than the sort of things hardcore vandals put in (which tend to involve things like 4-letter words and more than you'd care to know about their self-reported exploits with their girlfriends). It seems to me that vandalism is a price of a user-editable encyclopedia, and if we start blocking more articles, we should do it as a general policy and start with articles that are much more regularly vandalized than this one. But you're welcome to talk to an admin about your concerns (like User:Crzrussian, User:JoshuaZ, User:TShilo12). Best, --Shirahadasha 17:03, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Response to NOTICE and OBJECTIONS to WikiProject Religion vs. Judaism

Hi Jayrav: It is very important that you see the points and the response from User:Badbilltucker about his aims at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Judaism#NOTICE and OBJECTIONS to WikiProject Religion vs. Judaism ASAP. Have a Happy Chanukah! IZAK 15:59, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Please don't remove Swastik

Hi Jayrav, I see that you are a Jew and you may be insulted by the symbol. Please read Swastika. The Nazi swastika is a different design and the Hindus are very peaceful people. We regard the symbol as holy. Thank you GizzaChat © 00:08, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Also please see this and weigh in. Thanks. Abecedare 01:17, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Do see swastika and sauwastika.Bakaman 03:06, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jonathan Sacks

It's getting very close to Shabbos and I have no time to look into this, but the WP:BLP requires the immediate removal of unsourced material that is derogatory or might be considered libelous of a living person. Shabbat Shalom, --Shirahadasha 20:53, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bet Shira and Micah Caplan

Thanks for your kind words. I'll do it for these, but for future articles you might want to bring the AfD to the attention of Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Judaism‎ --Shirahadasha 19:40, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Smaller midrashim

Hey Jayrav. Thanks for the work on the smaller midrashim article. I *am* still working on it, however (hence the "inuse" template), so I'll be making some more changes in the next couple days. When I'm all done I will take down the "inuse" tag, and then feel free to pounce. Thanks. —Dfass 04:26, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm all for working together, but it's easier if we actually communicate about it in advance. In any case, my plan for the smaller midrashim article was to move all the text for the individual midrashim each into its own article, and then just have a bulleted list linking to each independent article. So I will eventually have to undo some of your work, for example, I will turn the headings back into bullets at some point (since there's no sense in having empty headings). I'm sure you dislike having your work undone as much as I do, so this why it's best to communicate in advance. (I know I keep "inuse" tags on articles much longer than recommended, so people probably think I've forgotten them, but I haven't.) Anyway, have a good night. Talk to you later. —Dfass 04:51, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
I'm done with it, so it's all yours. Have fun. —Dfass 19:09, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proposal for religious congregations

You recently made a comment in this AFD that makes me think you would have some interest in whether or not to have a notability guideline for religious congregations. Please see Wikipedia:Notability (local churches and other religious congregations) (aka WP:CONG). GRBerry 22:42, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup templates

Just to let you know that most cleanup templates, like "unreferenced", "fact", "cleanup" etc., are best not "subst"ed. See WP:SUBST for more details. Regards, Rich Farmbrough, 17:43 27 February 2007 (GMT).

[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chad Hopkovitz

Hi Jayrav: You recently added {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chad Hopkovitz}} to Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Judaism [2], however as requested at the top of the page ("tag discussions...") you did not complete the process fully. You should have placed the {{subst:delsort|Judaism}} <small>-- ~~~~</small> on the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chad Hopkovitz page. I have done so now, please remember to do so in the future. Thanks. Wishing you a Chag Kasher VeSameach. IZAK 08:57, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
