This article is shameless self promotion. Obviously whoever created it is affiliated with the hall high school jazz band and is using wikipedia for personal gain. Delete as vanity.

What about the so-called "jazz bands" popular in former mining communities in Northern England and South Wales? These are really children's marching bands, typically instrumented with drums, glockenspiels and kazoos, and have nothing whatsoever to do with jazz music. --GCarty 15:37, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jazz ensemble as dialect
I have removed the reference to "jazz ensemble" as being a term from western dialects of American English. I can attest to its use in the American South, where it is scarcely less common than "jazz band." -- Rob C (Alarob) 17:38, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
