I was christened Jeremy Charles McKean, and am now known as Jez (or jazzle online).

I was born on November 17th, 1981 in Reading, Berkshire, England.

I grew up in Shiplake, Oxfordshire.

I attended

• Shiplake CE Primary School,
• Crosfields (in Reading),
• 'Teddies' (in Oxford),
• Shiplake College,

and graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2004 with an BSc Honours Degree in Computer Information Systems.

I now live in Wavertree, Liverpool, Merseyside and work in St Helens.

Since 1999 I have run jazzle.co.uk in my spare time.

The Sketchup Components Collection is the best known section. (see SketchUp)

I, unsurprisingly, also have a blog, 'Recursive'.

I co-founded Carbon360.

I am now working for Bitopia where I coded the official site for St Helens RLFC.

I'm a regular at the bit-tech forums.

I consider myself a competent-to-advanced LAMP developer.

• I am three quarters English and a quarter Scottish - my paternal grandfather - hence my Scottish surname.

• I may be a descendent of Thomas McKean under whose 'presidency' the British surrendered in 1781.

• Jeż means hedgehog in Polish, as demonstrated by the Jeż Coat of Arms.

It's Jež in Croatian and Slovenian, and ježek in Czech

Ježek in Croatian means shudder.

• I might one day visit McKean Island, one of The Phoenix Islands, but it is roughly the opposite side of the planet from here and its main export was guano!
