Jean Baptiste Louis DeCourtel Marchand (b. unknown; died 1722)

Little is known about his early life. Sometime before 1722, he was a French Captain, who in 1722 was murdered by his own men in a mutiny at Fort Toulouse now called Fort Jackson, Alabama.

In 1720 he married Sehoy I of the Wind Clan of the Creek Nation.

This union produced:
Sehoy II Born: April 1722 Died: 1799
She goes on to become the grandmother of the infamous William Weatherford "Red Eagle".
Chief Red Shoes Died: 1783/84.
He was the uncle of Alexander McGillivray and is said to have taken a liking of the White mans "fire water" and was consumed by it.
