Jefferson Middle School (Jefferson City, Tennessee)

Jefferson Middle School is a middle school located in Jefferson City, Tennessee. The middle school is home to the football team the Elks, which has won more conference champs than any other middle school in Tennessee.
Like many other middle schools, JMS (Jefferson Middle School) has the basic classes. It also has special areas music, art, physical education, study skills, and AEP.

Classes at JMS are like every other across America. Language Arts, Tech Lab, Physical Education, Study Skills Music, Art, AEP, Math, Science, and Geography are what a typcial middle schooler's schedule looks like. Band is optional, but replaces special area classes Study Skills, Music, Art, and AEP. Another special class Elk TV is for eight graders only.

JMS has a variety of sports ranging from cheerleading to volleyball. Sports at JMS include: Ladies Basketball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Dance Team, Tennis, Golf, Track, Wrestling, Volleyball, and Football•
•Conference champs six years in a row.
[edit] Clubs and Activities
Elk TV†, Yearbook Staff, GATE, Scholars Bowl, Book Club, Travel Club, ESL (English as a Second Language), Recorder Choir, Choir, Band, Beta Club, and Student Council are the activities you can join at JMS.
†A production class that tapes two-four minute segments of news and upcoming activities at JMS. Taught by Tim Landefeld. Only eighth graders can participate.

JMS has been very busy, with football games every Tuesday and three conference games. JMS also produced the classic musical Annie this year, starring sixth grader Mia Hall as Annie and eighth grader Shade Jett as Mr. Warbucks. The band has also played concerts and has provided interludes in between acts during Annie. The beta club is also preparing to travel to Philadelphia and New York City this May. JMS has also had many pep rallies, being entertained by the cheerleaders, dance team, and the band.

The JMS students are preparing to go on many world trips. The travel club is preparing to go to Switzerland and Italy this year. The beta club is preparing to go to New York City this May.
