Engineer, Author, Photographer, Film Producer.
Born October 8, 1957 to John and Beverly Taipale in Painseville, Ohio. He graduated from South High School in Willoughby, Ohio in 1975. He graduated from Lakeland Community College in Mentor, Ohio in 1988 with an AASEET degree. He graduated from Cleveland State University, Fenn College of Engineering in 1999 with a BSEET degree Magna Cum Laude. Married in 1979 to Carol Carsey. They have two sons, Matthew, born in 1996 and Nathan born in 2001.

He has contributed breakthrough developments in the fields of Software, Firmware and Electrical Engineering for the vending and instrumentation industries. He has produced several films on DVD covering a variety of topics.

"Small Town America: Fairport Harbor, Ohio" A documentary film on the Village of Fairport Harbor, Ohio released on DVD in 2004.
Virtual Fairport Harbor: An interactive CD-ROM giving users a virtual tour of Fairport Harbor, and a website offering the same. Both developed in 1997.
M++ An interactive CD-ROM program for the PC giving users a unique "same field of view" catalog of the Messier objects.
"Trains, Planes & Atom Bombs" A series of six DVD film compilations featuring historical railroad films and atomic weapons testing.
"Classical Guitar Falls" An original DVD film featuring waterfalls in Lechworth State Park, NY and scored with classical guitar music.
