Jeffrey Shaara

Jeffrey M. Shaara (born 1952) is an American novelist, the son of Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Shaara.
Jeffrey Shaara was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey and grew up in Tallahassee, Florida. He graduated from Florida State University in 1974 with a degree in Criminology and now lives in Tallahassee.
He is the author of several works of historical fiction, including:
- Rise to Rebellion
- The Glorious Cause
- Gone for Soldiers
- Gods and Generals
- The Last Full Measure
- To the Last Man
- The Rising Tide
Gods and Generals and The Last Full Measure are the prequel and sequel, respectively, to his father Michael's award-winning novel The Killer Angels. Jeffrey followed his father's footsteps upon the latter's death.
He is currently working on a trilogy about World War II in Europe and North Africa, which will be followed by a novel about World War II in the Pacific and then a novel about the Korean War. The first book in the WWII trilogy, The Rising Tide, was released on November 7, 2006. The second book has now been tentatively scheduled for a Summer 2008 release.
