Jeremy Wright (politician)

Jeremy Wright (born October 24, 1972) is a British Conservative Party politician, and current Member of Parliament for the constituency of Rugby & Kenilworth.
He was first elected at the 2005 general election, when he won the seat from Andy King, the Labour MP since 1997.
Born in Taunton, Wright's parents were both teachers and both his brother and sister-in-law are Lieutenant Commanders in the Royal Navy. He was educated at Taunton School, Trinity School (New York City), the University of Exeter and the Inns of Court School of Law. He was called to the Bar in 1996 and since then has specialised in Criminal Law, both prosecution and defence, practising in the West Midlands area.
Before being selected as the Candidate in Rugby and Kenilworth, Jeremy was the youngest ever Chairman of Warwick and Leamington Conservative Association. He currently serves on the Constitutional Affairs Select Committee.
He is married to Yvonne, Head of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Warwick. Jeremy and Yvonne have a daughter called Stephanie. When not busy in Westminster or the constituency, Jeremy's interests include travel, especially to the USA, music, James Bond films and playing golf badly.
