Jermaine Wiggins (born January 18, 1975 in East Boston, Massachusetts) is an American football tight end for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL. He is widely known throughout Massachusetts as "The Pride of East Boston". He was originally signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Georgia. He has also played for the New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, and Indianapolis Colts, winning a Super Bowl with New England in 2001 ,and a NFC Championship with Carolina in 2003. The Vikings released him on March 1, 2007 and he was signed by the Jaguars on March 23, 2007.

[edit] High School Years
Wiggins attended East Boston High School in East Boston, Massachusetts and was a letterman in football and basketball. In football, he was an All-City and an All-League honoree. In basketball, he helped lead his team to the state championship as a junior. Wiggins graduated from East Boston in 1993. After high school, he attended Bridgton Academy in North Bridgton, Maine for a year of post-graduate study.

Wiggins attended Marshall University for two years before transferring to the University of Georgia.

Wiggins has appeared in two Super Bowls, and each time the New England Patriots have been one of the teams playing in the game. In his first Super Bowl appearance, he was a member of the 2001 Patriots team that won the game. In his second Super Bowl appearance, he played against the 2003 Patriots team as a member of the Carolina Panthers team that lost.
