Jerome E. Beaulier, a U.S. Navy F-4 Phantom pilot and MiG killer during the Vietnam War, was one of the original students of the Navy's Fighter Weapons School, more famously known as Top Gun, when the school was still part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet's F-4 flight crew training Fleet Replacement Squadron, VF-121 Pacemakers in the late 1960's to early 70's. Details of his exploits can be found in a book titled Scream of Eagles, written by Robert Wilcox, which tells the story of Top Gun.
