Jerry DeCaire

Jerry DeCaire [1] is a comic book illustrator. In his career, he has adapted sequential visuals to a general plot provided by a writer on a free-lance basis. He has drawn many colorful tales for the world's largest publisher of super hero comics, Marvel Comics, and for some lesser know publishing houses as well.
Some of the Marvel titles he has drawn for include: X-Men, Wolverine, Conan the Barbarian, The Punisher, The Mighty Thor, Iron Man and Hawkeye for Marvel Comics Presents, Dr. Strange for Secret Defenders, Nick Fury Agent of Shield , and other various projects.
DeCaire has also illustrated some projects for Tekno-Comics--a Leonard Nimoy venture serving to graphically interpret many of the tales of Isaac Asimov. Further, he was a part of the resurrection of The Green Hornet with Now Comics in the early 1990's.
Recently, Decaire has illustrated books for Moonstone Books located in Chicago Illinois. Some of the titles have been in conjunction with White-Woolf Game Products - The second largest role-game-playing company in the world. These graphic adaptations to their role-playing characters include: Werewolf the Apocalyse: Children of Gaia, and Vampire the Masquerade: Assamite; Sleep of Reason. He has also illustrated several monthly releases and a full-length Trade Paperback for The Cisco-Kid, and monthly editions of The Phantom- one of the world's most popular comic strips turned into a comic book.
Throughout his career, DeCaire has done several country-wide tours signing books and entertaining fans of all ages. Typically his circuit has originated from the Midwest, moved down the East Coast through Florida, and then headed West along the Gulf of Mexico through Texas and then to California.DeCaire also teaches workshops on how to draw comics. During his tours, he often visits comic book stores signing books, drawing sketches, selling artist-drawn prints of popular comic book characters, and giving more workshops on how to draw comics.
DeCaire also gives presentations to students at public schools around the country on how to draw comics. In his presentation, DeCaire shows how he incorporates concepts of math and science into his drawing. This demonstrates to students how subjects they may usually find unimportant and boring are essential and exciting when applied to a subject they love like comic book illustration.
DeCaire's work also has been featured in several local and regional newspapers in areas where he has resided and toured.

Additionally, DeCaire has a Bachelors of Science Degree from Central Michigan University with an emphasis on art and natural sciences and has completed, with honors, all the professional education courses leading to an Art Education Specialist (LZ) endorsement with certification.
Currently DeCaire is living in the LA area working on a number of freelance projects including some major upcoming projects with Alabama based company Specialized Media Services Inc.
