"Jesus Saves" is a common proclamation used especially by American church pastors to inspire people that through being crucified and passing away, Jesus saved all humanity from sin, and connecting to him will save yourself.
[edit] In music world
"Jesus Saves" is the title of the second song from Savatage's concept album Streets: A Rock Opera. It tells the story of DT Jesus, a rockstar that lost himself in the drug and debts. In the end of the album he will find faith. The song is one of the most loved Savatage's song by fans, and also one of the band's favourite, and it's played live at every show. Live versions are released as bonus tracks, like in the 2001 album Poets and Madmen.
[edit] In Role Playing Game Humor
The expression "Jesus Saves ... and takes half damage" is a common role playing game humor catch phrase. "Saving", in role playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons means being able to avoid some of the damages or bad status of an enemy spell.
