You did it 98% correct. The reason they were not showing up was because you also have to add a section formatted like this:
==References==
<References />
This will make the cites you added show up in a separate section. I've already added the section in the article, this is just for future reference.--Isotope23 14:13, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
