[edit] Biography
Jill Barnett was born and raised in Southern California, but spent summers visiting her grandparents in Texas.
Intending to teach and write college history textbooks, Barnett returned to school to pursue a Master's degree while in her mid-thirties. She discovered soon after she enrolled that she was pregnant with a daughter, despite having been told that she could not have children. After two years of juggling coursework with her family, Barnett quit school to stay home with her daughter. She soon began playing with an idea for a novel. Two years after she quit school (in 1988), Barnett sold her first book.
Since that day, Barnett had written over thirteen novels. Her novels can be read in seventeen languages, and there are more than seven million copies of her books in print.
Barnett's husband, John, passed away unexpectedly in 1995.
