Jimmie Spheeris
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jimmie Spheeris (November 5, 1949 - July 4, 1984) was an Greek-American singer, songwriter and musician who released several albums in the 1970s.
His debut album, Isle of View, resulted in somewhat of a cult following which increased with his second album, The Original Tap Dancing Kid. He returned in 1975 with The Dragon is Dancing and Ports of the Heart in 1976. After Ports of the Heart he had no recording contract and except for a 1980 single, "Hold Tight", he did not release any new material for over a decade.
Jimmie finished his final album, Spheeris, hours before a drunk driver took his life when he collided with Spheeris' motorcycle. The album was not publicly released for 16 years.
Starting in 1998, Rain Records re-released all of his albums, but has since stopped production.
